I found a pattern for Market Bag on knitting daily by Vickie Square but can't find directions to the stitches. I even own her book and still can't find it..any hints?

I am trying the same pattern and search with out finding the same basketweave stitch. After sleeping on the idea, I realized that the instructions were confusing me. This is what I did. INstead of taking the right-hand needle and putting it IN THE STITCH on the left needle, I just passed the first stitch and put the right-hand needle in the back of the second stitch and knitted it. This left the original loop on the left-hand needle. Then I knitted in the front of the first stitch and dropped the loop not only from the first stitch, but also the second. IT WORKED!
