Bobbin Winder - non traditional

A friend and I have come up with a few non-traditional bobbin winders that will save a few bucks.

  1. Conair has a hair braider. It is battery operated. Leclerc bobbins fit nicely on this. It also works well for fringe. You can find one for somewhere between $8-15. 
  2. Your husband's or wife's power drill. I use mine with a bit of masking tape on one of the drivers. Whether it is battery or plug in, you can find one for around $25.

Needless to say, these are a far cry from the $180 hand operated and $380 electric bobbin winders on the market. I believe in multi-taskers much like Alton Brown's cooking show.
