I'm so happy to see this new forum. I'm an Oregonian currently living in Bangkok--but moving to Budapest in July. I've been knitting for something over half a century (I think I learned to knit about the same time I learned to write).
Finding good yarn in Thailand is a challenge, and knitting anything that lies on my lap is not pleasant in this heat and humidity. Consequently my husband has a drawer full of hand knit socks--I can't remember the last time he put on any "store bought" ones.
