Hi Portia...
I just re-read that email. My understanding is that patt will be in the (soon-to-be-released) newest issue they are talking about. Nov/ Dec's Piecework. I just checked it out here:
http://www.interweave.com/needle/piecework_magazine/default.asp
The magazine is due to be on newstands Nov 2nd I think. The mitts are "on the list"...check out the link.
If you're interested...there was also another silk mitt patt in "Knitting Traditions"...available here too. Shown in red as well as white on page 76. A lacy patt on those.
Hope this helps..... Andrea
Thanks Andea. Your response helped. I will look for that issue soon. It seems there are 2 magazines: Piecework and Knitting Traditions - is that correct?
I wonder if they have those magazines in stores in Montreal.
Regards,
Portia
Hi again Portia...
Piecework is an ongoing magazine...I have a subscription to it. "Knitting Traditions" is a one-time thing...like an extra thick magazine. I got it fr Interweave directly as I couldn't find it locally. Probably the best description is that it's a complilation of 40 (?) projects taken fr past issues of Piecework. I really like it. I see that the paper version is sold out here but the digital version is still available. I'm giving you the link here to the paper version as it has more pics/ info. Cover + $ was the same.

As to it's availability in Montreal...not sure...never been there. I live in small town Nova Scotia (New Glasgow) + I can buy Interweave Knits + Crochet locally. Haven't seen Piecework or Spin Off though. It's easier for me to just have a subscription to all 4. Special issues like Knitting Traditions + the annual Holiday Gifts fr IK I often have to order via mail. Monteal is bigger...you may find both in a yarn shop? Or a book store? Try calling a few.
Take Care ..... Andrea
Thanks again, Andrea, for the information. I get that there are 2 different things: Piecework and Knitting Traditions. I will look for the Nov issue of Piecework as I really want to knit those red mittens. I just finished knitting a small afghan and now will get onto another project. I would like to send you a copy of the afghan pattern and if so, how can I do it.
I always felt that Nova Scotia has a nice energy.
