Searching for a pattern

Please forgive me if this has been addressed already, but being new to the site I am not as versed as some of you here who seem to have it all together...I want to knit a simple t-shirt...just like the one you pull over your head in the morning and has the fruit label guys as their logo....plain and simple.  Where do I find that?  No matter if it's crew or v-neck.  I am looking for the fit and the look of a t-shirt...but knitted. Additionally, any mention of the appropriate yarn, cashmere, blends etc., would be appreciated as well.  Hope you can help.  Best, Kia

Hi Kia,

At the top of the page you will find a brown menu bar with different topics on it.  Take your mouse over the "Patterns" and a drop down menu appears.  There are many many patterns there for you to look through.  I will also look on the web for you and post links under my name (or if the computer is acting up, then on the following posts after this one.)

Hi Kia..

These 2 links may not be exactly as you want...but anything can be tweaked to your desires. ie: both have some lace patterning...just ignore that + knit them plain. I have both patts in my binders...but haven't yet knit either one. Both patterns have all the yarn/ etc info included. First one is top down so you can try it on to get exactly the right fit.

They have just about everything under the sun there...although I haven't ever looked for a plain t-shirt I admit.

You could take an old ruined t-shirt/ carefully cut the seams apart to get the measurements + use the pcs as guides. Do a swatch (washed + dried too) to get your gauge. Basic math + you have a patt. A t-shirt has a pretty basic shape.
