I am trying to knit the Battleboro hat in the Fall 2010 issue.  In the crown shaping section, the pattern says "work 1 rnd even". What does that mean? I could use any help available. Thank you in advance.

Hi Patti,

As far as I understand the term "work one round even" means to continue the same pattern as the previous round.  If for example, the previous round was all knit stitches, then the next round is also all knit stitches -- no increases or decreases or purl stitches, etc.

Hope this helps, Zoe

Just in case you want another  -

"work even" = continue in pattern without increasing or decreasing.  (U.K.:  work straight)  Vogue Knitting International

Hope your project goes well!
