edit profile questions

 On the edit profile page:

What is the box next to the the word "gallery" for?

What is the recommended reading box for?

And lastly, I noticed that some people have a "signature" like a quote below their posts.  Can I do that?

Marilyn:

The box next to the word Gallery in your Edit profile page allows you to put a link to your gallery site.

Recommended Reading is so you can add your favorite blogs--it will show up on your profile page as a blogroll!

Let me see if I can put some blogs on my profile page so you can see how it works....

 Oh, duh!  I found the edit profile page but never thought to click on my name to see my actual profile page.  I'm really slow at this sometimes.  Thanks for your help.

Since the subject is open, more or less, can you tell me how to get rid of the avatar I uploaded so I can put up a new one? When I try to upload a newly browsed image, it doesn't come in but leaves the old one.

Once you upload the new one, you also need to click the save button at the bottom of the screen.
