Does anybody know where I can get a pattern for pockets? I need to add a purl pocket to my sweater! Thanks!

Check out Elizabeth Zimmermann's books: "Knitter's Almanac", "Knitting around, or, Knitting without a license", "Knitting without tears" I don't own them, but in one or them there are instructions for an after-thought-pocket. Also try her videos : "A knitting glossary with Elizabeth Zimmermann & Meg Swansen" or "knitting Workshop" . Good luck

I remember that I was advised once, somewhere, somtime, that you can pick up the number of stiches requred for the pocket in the back of the stiches where the pocket is to be. Then you save the front stiches on a separate yarn piece, and continue the sweater as usual, including the back stiches. When the front is finished, you finish the pocket and sew in onto the sweater. I can't remember that I have tried it, I would make a small test and see what I thought of it first.
