Hi - I live in New Zealand and have just joined. I've been knitting for many years (the first thing I knit was a scarf for my Barbie doll when I was about 10) As well as knitting I also like to quilt, do cross stitch, and a bit of spinning and felting. Lack of time is the biggest problem as I work part time and have a horse and an Austrian kelpie puppy who compete for my attention now that our kids have left home. This site was recommended by work mates and I'm glad to have found it.

Just noticed that we have posted in about the same time period - you from NZ and me from Sweden. Someone think's its 7AM here, I consider it 9AM. I live in the country an hour's drive from Copenhagen, among the horses cows and some wild pigs (but those are shy). I love to knit and was taught by my mother.
I also enjoy other textil crafts and once took evening courses to explore woodworking. My best piece there is a coffe table that we still use.
