Every time I start a new knitting project I do check my gauge. This takes a long time because I ususally have to go down at least 5 needle sizes. Is anyone else like this, is this normal? This is from different patterns, books, types of yarn, and it is when I use the yarn the project suggests as well. Any advice or thoughts on this would be most appreciated.
