This adult-sized baseball sock captures the fine work of embroidery combined with knitting. Its traditional striping mimics the baseball socks worn by baseball players today, but the side ribbing gives it an updated modern look. And feather stitch is the perfect stitch to use to imitate the simple baseball motif embroidered on the ankle, sole, heel, and foot of the sock. Knit and embroider a sock that matches your team’s colors!

Finished Size: About 7½" (19 cm) foot circumference and 9" (23 cm) long from back of heel to tip of toe. To fit women’s U.S. shoe sizes 7 to 8½.

Yarn and Thread: Lily Chin Signature Collection Gramercy (100% Superwash Merino wool, 127 yd [116 m]/50 g): #5001 white (MC), 3 balls; #8640 purple (CC), 1 ball. DMC Pearl Cotton Number 8 (Article 116/8, 100% cotton, 87 yd [79.5 m]/10 g): 1 ball each of #321 Red and #828 Ultra Very Light Blue (or other light color).

Needles: U.S. Size 2 (2.75 mm): set of 5 double-pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle; size 5 embroidery needle.

Gauge: 15 sts and 21 rounds = 2" (5cm) in St st worked in the rnd.
