Freyja Hat

Intermediate Bohus hat with Fair Isle stranded colorwork that mixes purl and knit stitches. This hat is worked in the round from the brim up in a fine yarn that contains alpaca, silk, camel, and cashmere. Five pastel colors create beautiful effects in colorwork.

Yarn The Fibre Company Road to China Light (65% baby alpaca, 15% silk, 10% camel, 10% cashmere; 159 yd [145 m]/50 g): riverstone (taupe; MC), ruby (CC1), citrine (yellow; CC2), aquamarine (blue; CC3), and malachite (green; CC4), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Kelbourne Woolens.
Needles Size 2 (2.75 mm): 16" circular (cir). Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16" cir and set of 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in St st on larger needle, blocked

  1. Perfect hat for holiday giving.  Even enough time to do a couple. Since our winters are mild I’m thinking of doing it in cotton for a longer wearing period.

    I really think this is a great selection.  Oh, ok, I’ll whine “Pleaseeeee can we do this onnnnneee?”

  3. I really want to do this one BADLY!   I went out and bought yarn for it when I saw it in the Fall Knits; I believe it was fall…  Anyway, I hope this one wins because I’m READY!  Are you ready? ;D
