  1. I am currently working on this dress in size 27 1/2″. I am confused about the decreases for this size after row 8. The pattern says to decrease every 10th row 16 more times however when reading forward in the instructions armhole shaping begins at row 45. To decrease down from 116 to 82 stitches at row 45 I would need to decrease nearly every row. I have looked for errata and finding none I am wondering what I have misunderstood. Please help.

    1. The first decrease row will fall on Row 9 of the chart, then you repeat the decrease row every 10th row 16 times to get to 82 stitches. That’s 160 more rows of shaping (169 chart rows total). At the same time, you’ll continue to work the chart. You’ve already worked 9 chart rows when you work the first decrease row, so will work 63 more rows of the chart (9 + 63 = 72). Then you’ll work the full 72 rows of the chart once more, then work Rows 1-25 once more to get to the 169 total rows. The shaping is now complete. After that, you work 1 row even (Row 26 of the chart) and you’re ready to shape the armholes.

      I hope that helps!
