Yarn Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted (100% wool; 220 yd [201 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #12276 twilight (MC), 11 (12, 14, 15, 16, 17) skeins; #12503 charcoal heather (CC), 1 skein.

Needles Size 10½ (6.5 mm). Size 7 (4.5 mm): 40" circular (cir) and 2 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); stitch holders; cableneedle (cn); tapestry needle; six 5/8" snaps; six 1 1/8" shank buttons; sewing needle and thread.

Gauge 20 sts and 20 rows = 4" in Basketweave Cable patt with 2 strands held tog on larger needles.

Worked almost entirely in double stranded worsted weight, this military-style fitted jacket made with allover basketweave stitch has rich texture, and makes for a cozy outerwear piece. Fine finishing details are well worth the effort in this understated sweater.
