Mason’s Hat

The fully reversible Mason’s Hat, worked in the round from the bottom up, features handsome cables and a soft but rustic tweed yarn. To create a set, see Mason’s Scarf.

Difficulty Level: Intermediate

Finished Size 20 (22, 24)” brim circumference. Hat shown measures 22″.
Yarn Studio Donegal Soft Donegal (100% merino wool; 210 yd [190 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): 5202 olive, 2 skeins.

Needles Size 5 (3.75 mm): 16″ circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): 16″ cir and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Marker (m); cable needle (cn); tapestry needle.

Gauge 34 sts and 38 rnds = 4″ in Cable patt on larger needle.
