Honey Hunters Socks

Colorwork socks worked from the toe up with a short-row heel. Use two circulars or the magic-loop method to knit these socks. Charts for each animal are provided, and a honeycomb pattern separates the colorwork sections.

Finished Size Size 8½ (9½)" foot circumference and 9½ (9¾)" long from back of heel to tip of toe. To fit women’s U.S. shoe size 8 (10). Shown in size 8½". Foot length is adjustable.
Yarn The Sanguine Gryphon Skinny Bugga! (80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon; 450 yd [411 m]/4 oz): autumn tiger beetle (dark green; MC) and orange assassin bug (CC), 1 skein each.
Needles Size 1 (2.25 mm): Two 16" circulars (cir) or one 32" or longer cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Cable needle (cn); markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 32 sts and 50 rows = 4" in St st; 30 sts and 70 rows = 4" in mosaic patt; 9½ sts and 8 rows = ¾" in Honeycomb patt.

Thalweg Socks

Top-down cabled socks worked on two circular needles with charted instructions for leg and instep patterns. Large diamond cables on the legs blend into smaller baby cables on the instep, while the twisted stitches carry through on the heel flap.

Lace and Twist Socks

Top-down socks worked in the round with cables and lace. These intermediate socks can be worked with any of the sock knitting methods. A Kitchener toe, twisted rib cuff, and traditional heel make for a classic sock.
