A unique scrunch stitch texture adds warmth and interest to a buttoned cowl. Piece is knit flat.

FINISHED SIZE 24" circumference, buttoned, and 8" high.
YARN Riverside Studio by Kathryn Drysdale Superwash Merino/Nylon Sock (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon; 420 yd [384 m]/4 oz [115 g]): into the woods, 1 skein.
NEEDLES Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
NOTIONS One double-pointed needle (dpn) at least two sizes smaller than main needle; tapestry needle; three 1¼" buttons.
GAUGE 27 sts and 32 rows = 4" in Scrunch patt.
