Finished Size 24" circumference and 8" high.

Yarn Blue Sky Alpacas Suri Merino (60% baby suri, 40% merino; 164 yd [150 m m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #418 dusk, 2 skeins.

Needles Size 9 (5.5 mm): 16" and 24" circulars (cir). Size 8 (5 mm): Two double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Two cable needles (cn); stitch markers (m); tapestry needle.

Gauge 18 sts and 23 rows = 4" in St st on larger needles; 26 sts and 28 rows = 4" in Chart E patt on larger needles.

Dropped yarnovers add gauzy texture to a cozy cowl. Piece is knit flat, given a half twist, and grafted for a quick knit.

FINISHED SIZE about 28¾" circumference and 11½" wide.
YARN Rowan Lima (84% baby alpaca, 8% merino wool, 8% nylon; 109 yd [100 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #880 Andes, 3 balls. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.
NEEDLES Size 10½ (6.5 mm): 24" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Marker (m); waste yarn; spare cir needle size 10½ (6.5 mm) or smaller; tapestry needle; size K/10½ (6.5 mm) crochet hook.
GAUGE 18 sts and 26 rows = 4" in Garter Drop St.

Garter stitch scarf featuring reversible, slanted cables. Completed with a cozy fringe for a simple scarf with a little something extra.

Finished Size 8" wide and 44" long, excluding fringe.
Yarn Green Mountain Spinnery Wonderfully Woolly (100% New England wool; 250 yd [229 m]/4 oz [113 g]): pumpkin, 2 skeins.
Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); cable needle (cn); crochet hook.
Gauge 15 sts and 26 rows = 4" in garter st, lightly stretched.
Correction: The 10-stitch Cable pattern needs a second 10-stitch cable (with the pattern beginning with a p1, instead of a k1): Sl 5 sts onto cn, hold in front, [p1, k1] 2 times, p1, then ([k1, p1] 2 times, k1) from cn. This cable should be worked on Row 27 of the Increases chart. On Rows 28–36 of the chart, the 10 stitches above this cable will be worked as foll: [p1, k1] 5 times. This cable (and the 9 rib rows above it) should alternate with the cable and 9 rib rows that begin with a k1.
