FINISHED SIZE 18" brim circumference (unstretched) and 9" high.

YARN The Fibre Company Tundra (60% baby alpaca, 30% merino wool, 10% silk; 120 yd [110 m]/3 1/2 oz [100 g]): petrel (MC) and tamarack (CC), 1 skein each. Yarn distributed by Kelbourne Woolens.

NEEDLES Size 9 (5.5 mm): 24" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

NOTIONS Marker (m); tapestry needle.

BIG TILE PULLOVER

A bold mosaic-inspired design decorates the front of this sweater. The colors are classic, but the short sleeves, chunky yarn, and thick cowl neck are utterly modern. Piece is worked in the round from the bottom up.

Finished Size 33¼ (36, 38¾, 40, 44, 46¾, 49¼, 52)" bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 36", modeled with moderate ease.

Yarn Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun Chunky (100% wool; 155 yd [142 m]/7 oz [200 g]): #N91C Aran (MC) 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6) skeins; #110 blueberry (CC1) and #145 salmon (CC2), 1 skein each.

Needles Size 10½ (6.5 mm): 16" and 32" circulars (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Size 10 (6 mm): 32" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Yarn Berroco Peruvia (100% Peruvian Highland wool; 174 yd [160 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #7104 oats (MC), #7194 profunda (teal; CC1), #7195 baya (purple; CC2), #7122 avocado (green; CC3), #7192 sol (yellow; CC4), #7110 naranja (orange; CC5), and #7191 pimienta (red; CC6), 1 skein of each color.

Needles Size 10 (6 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Size 7 (4.5 mm): 2 dpn. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

This intermediate cardigan vest features vertical Fair Isle panels, a big collar, side-to-side construction, some intarsia elements, and a chunky gauge. The colorwork is worked in rows.
