Turned-Cable Cardigan

A swingy, criss-cross shape and soft spun yarn whip up into a warm and cozy cardigan. A large cable adds interest to the border. Sweater is knit in pieces with cable added after seaming.

FINISHED SIZE 383⁄4 (44, 48, 531⁄4, 57)" bust circumference, buttoned. Cardigan shown measures 383⁄4".
YARN Classic Elite Yarns Ariosa (90% extrafine merino, 10% cashmere; 87 yd [79 m]/13⁄4 oz [50 g]): #4855 russet, 11 (12, 14, 15, 16) balls.
NEEDLES Size 101⁄2 (6.5 mm): 16" and 29" circulars (cir) and two double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
NOTIONS Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holder; tapestry needle; 1" square piece of medium-weight interfacing; one 11⁄2" button.
GAUGE 14 sts and 20 rows = 4" in St st; 22 sts of Cable Border chart = 31⁄4" wide.

The perfect snuggly cardigan for a rainy day. Cardigan is worked back and forth in one piece from the bottom up. Ribbing and a horseshoe cable band are worked after folding into shape.

FINISHED SIZE 591⁄4 (64, 673⁄4, 703⁄4, 733⁄4)" bust circumference, buttoned. Cape shown measures 591⁄4".
YARN Tahki Yarns Cora Color (50% Corriedale wool, 50% alpaca; 92 yd [84 m]/13⁄4 oz [50 g]): #011 wheat, 7 (9, 11, 13, 15) balls. Yarn distributed by Tahki-Stacy Charles Inc.
NEEDLES Size 8 (5 mm) 60" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

BIG TILE PULLOVER

A bold mosaic-inspired design decorates the front of this sweater. The colors are classic, but the short sleeves, chunky yarn, and thick cowl neck are utterly modern. Piece is worked in the round from the bottom up.

Finished Size 33¼ (36, 38¾, 40, 44, 46¾, 49¼, 52)" bust circumference. Pullover shown measures 36", modeled with moderate ease.

Yarn Brown Sheep Company Nature Spun Chunky (100% wool; 155 yd [142 m]/7 oz [200 g]): #N91C Aran (MC) 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6) skeins; #110 blueberry (CC1) and #145 salmon (CC2), 1 skein each.
