CHLOE'S VEST

Finished Size 34 (38, 42, 46, 50)" bust circumference. Vest shown measures 34", modeled with minimal ease.
Yarn Rowan Wool Cotton 4 Ply (50% merino wool, 50% cotton; 197 yd [180m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #00490 violet, 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) skeins. Yarn distributed by Westminster Fibers.
Needles Band-size 7 (4.5 mm): 16" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Body-size 8 (5 mm): 16" cir. Lace inset-size 3 (3.25 mm): 24" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); removable m; stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge 18 sts and 26 rows = 4" in St st on largest needles with 2 strands of yarn held tog; 24 sts and 38 rows = 4" in Lace Inset patt on smallest needles.

 

A simply shaped sweater vest is dolled up with a delicate lace inset. Vest is knit in three pieces with the inset worked from the center out.

This design looks very cute.

I have a couple reservations about it, though. Worked in the suggested yarn, the design looks chunky for such a delicate inset. Also, I notice the model's arms are pressed tightly against the armholes in every photo except one. In that one photo, she's lifted her left arm away from her side and the resulting armhole, that which I can see, seems kind of big and floppy compared to the right side.
