My second double knit pot holder. Design created myself. Used sugar and cream cotton yarns. This is the 'front' side, but the back side is pretty too.
I liked the bottom solid edge created by using the one color yarn cast on method ( cast-on wrapped around 2 needles) and then in the first row, add the other color by knitting and purling into each stitch. Since the double knit cast-off methods I found, left a 'purl bar' on one side, I knit-purl all the stitches with one color ( navy) and the cast off, by k2tog and casting off. This created a nice solid frame at the top too.
