A pair of gloves for a friend.

My first gloves, and my first try at double pointed needles, so I'm okay with how these turned out.

DPNs can be a bit tricky when first learning to use them, but once I got the hang of it, they were quite relaxing to work with. (No turning, ever - just knit knit knit knit... see? Mesmerising.)

Now that I've actually achieved a pair of gloves, I can't wait to make more.

Very nice.  Like socks, gloves are very portable.  Unlike socks, they are more challenging.  You deserve a pat on the back for an excellent first try!

Aah, but that is the beauty of textured knit stitches - a lot of them look extra complicated, but are really just simple repeats of knits, yarnovers and k2tog; much like these gloves!

ZassZ and six_legged: Thank you so much for your compliments; you are such talented knitters yourselves, so I really feel like I'm on my way to being properly accomplished getting these comments from you.

I can't wait to see more of you projects!

Hi Alexandra,

These are truly beautiful.  I love your pattern and the texture on the lace is beautiful!  I wish I had a pair just like them.  Thank you for sharing the pic with us.

Wow, these look like a tricky pattern for a first time glove.

Very unique, femine and special occasion looking.  I'm sure your friend will love them.

Great job and thanks for sharing about the double needle part.  Makes sense, but I've never looked at a glove pattern before.
