Designer Vèronik Avery

Finished Size 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52)" bust circumference, buttoned. Vest shown measures 32", modeled with 1 1/2" of negative ease.

Yarn Blue Sky Alpacas Metalico (50% baby alpaca, 50% mulberry silk; 147 yd [134 m]/1 3/4 oz [50 g]): #1614 flint, 8 (9, 10, 12, 14, 15) skeins.

Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 24" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions Markers (m); waste yarn for provisional CO; stitch holders; tapestry needle; one 9/16" button; one 7/16" button.

Gauge 27 sts and 33 rows = 4" in St st; 22 sts and 33 rows = 4" in lace patt.

An invisible waist stay creates structure in a long, flowing shape. The Millay Jacket is worked in two parts, the body upward from a waist cast-on, then the skirt down from a pick-up along that same line. Cap sleeves, a bowed neckline, and ethereal alpaca-silk combine for a ladylike layering piece.
