I do not understand the directions on this pattern.

CO 7 sts using the cable cast on.

Set-up Row: Knit.

Work charts in order. (All rows are charted.)

All RS Rows: K3, charted row, k1, charted row, k3.

All WS Rows: K3, charted row, p1, charted row, k3.

Chart A only has 1 stitch to begin. I could understand if it said

All RS Rows: K3, charted row, k3 but where does the second part come from (k1, charted row,)

Should the first row be

K3, YO, K1, YO,K3?

K3, P1, P1, P1, K3?

K3 YO, K3, YO, K1, YO, K3, YO, K3? and so on or am I doubling the charted row for nothing.
