Congrats to the designer of this beautiful pattern for winning the 'best overall design' category in the Share the Love Design Contest.

1. What was the inspiration for your submitted pattern?

I was inspired by the robins sitting in my cherry tree in late winter. It brought to mind a little poem titled "The Secret"

We have a secret, just we three/ The robin, and I, and the sweet cherry-tree;/ The bird told the tree, and the tree told me, /And nobody knows it but just us three.

2. Was the design process smooth or did you run into any struggles?

I struggled with incorporating a third colour in the stranded knitting only on one half of the mitten. I solved the problem in two ways: 1) The third colour could be worked in using duplicate stitch, or 2) the colour could be knitted in using a technique much like rooistud inlay work.

3. What was the most valuable lesson you learned along the way?

I learned never to give up and to keep persevering despite challenges.

4. What materials are required to complete this pattern? (aka put your materials list here)
