Holly Priestley

-Size 16 1/2" wide by 73" long, excluding fringe

-Yarn Fibra Natura Llamalini (40% royal llama, 25% linen, 35% silk; 109 yd [100 m]/50 g):

• #106 lotus, 8 skeins

-Gauge 18 sts and 21 rows = 4" in charted patt

-Tools

• Size 9 (5.5 mm) needles

• Cable needle (cn)

• Size H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook

• Tapestry needle

Linen, llama, and silk fibers combine to make a soft and drapey yarn; big cables and eyelet columns make a dramatic statement.

Does anyone know of a good less expensive yarn to substitute for the FibraNatura Llamalini called for in this pattern? I don't want to invest so much in a first-time try at knitting from a chart, but would like to get the same draping effect if possible.  This yarn doesn't indicate DK, worsted, fingering, etc., so I don't know how to make a substitution.  Thank you.
