Notes on The El Sol from Katie Himmelberg, assistant editor of Interweave Knits:
Jennifer L. Appleby's striking El Sol Pullover features a different
kind of striped embellishment. The textured stripes are subtle and
simple enough that they do not detract from the cut-away details at the
hem and neckline. Contrasting single crochet edging adds a nice
finishing touch to emphasize the notch detailing, which accents a face
nicely. Though the body of the sweater is quite relaxed, I would choose
the size closest to your bust measurement for a good fit across the
bust and shoulders. Be sure to check the neck measurement as well; the
neck opening can be adjusted slightly, but you'll want to make sure
it's not excessively large on you. This sweater is casual fun with a
little off-the-shoulder sassiness; keep it pared-down with jeans, a
dress pant, or a tiered skirt.
