Download Fountain Hat

Fountain Hat is a lovely hat designed by Katie Himmelberg.

Finished Size: 20" band circumference; 23" circumference at widest point.

Yarn: ShibuiKnits Sock (100% superwash merino; 191 yd [175 m]/50 g): #S1395 honey, 2 skeins.

Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Markers (m; one in a contrasting color); tapestry needle.

Gauge: 25 sts and 33 rnds = 4" in St st in the rnd.

Skill Level: Intermediate

I will make this as one of my Chemo hats.  I'll probably use some of the hand painted Blue Moon or Noro yarn for it.  This is a really neat hat.

I will make this for my son's girlfriend, he is a huge fan of the movie and I am an avid sock knitter so have lots of nice yarn to choose from. Looks like a beautiful hat!  Can't wait to knit it.

Made this hat in 2 days for a Christmas gift - and I am so pleased with it! I used hand-painted sock yarn. It is a lovely hat, soft and pretty. Janet

I made this hat in both a heavier weight sock yarn and a laceweight yarn. Neither one of them turned out like the picture above but I love them and have been wearing one or the other every day since completion.
