I purchased a sweater at a thrift store, hoping inspiration (and luck in my case!) would enable me to actually make something out of it. Honestly, the label said 100% wool. So, I tossed it in the washing machine set on hot water and cotton cycle. When it finished, I had a slightly misshapen sweater and a bunch of fiber in my machine. Okay, try again. Same results. I then went back to the store and found another sweater that said 100% wool. Using the same procedure, my sweater felted! It was going to be a handbag, but there wasn’t enough material.

There are no actual directions when you print the PDF, but there is a better description of how it was done.  I think that anyone could do this by just measuring a passport, adding about 1/2 inch/ side for seams and extra on one end so that it can be folded over.

Also, if a sweater doesn't felt on the first try--- keep trying.  I had one sweater that took about 10 times before it felted, but it does work!

I read it and she tells about how she washed it in hot water and then went and bought another one and cut out a bag.

I downloaded the pattern, but there's no pattern instructions on it. It just includes a picture of the wallet and what's said above, along with an ad for "Spin-Off" Magazine. Hmmmmmm... ???
