My hat is a by-product of a beautiful aran knit sweater gone bad. I had just completed my sweater and, somehow, it made its way into the wash. My husband, not knowing better, just tossed it in with everything else. End result—not wearable as a sweater.

i really need a better picture of it, cant see the whole hat not sure if i want to make it or not cant see the back side or how it looks to the end at the top of hat... iobeygodeverytime@yahoo.com

This actually looks like somebody forgot to straighten this out and you really can't tell if it's a purse, shawl, or possibly mittens. Who knows? Hopefully, we'll all get lucky and end up seeing the item that they've taken a picture of since all we have to go on is a half picture.....

To me, it appears that the knitter took the felted sleeve, added a short ribbed brim and made the sleeve a hat.  Clever actually, though I don't really think many would wear it.  Cute idea, just needs some tweeking.  Perhaps gather it tightly just above the sleeve cuff and put a long, very thick tassle bursting out from the puckered cuff.
