Using unspun rolags to knit is a great introduction to spinning—carding and drafting fiber are some of the first steps in learning how to spin. See Carol’s article in the Winter 2008 issue of Spin.Off to learn more of the fundamentals of preparing rolags for knitting.

no problems downloading this. Perhaps your Adobe Reader needs updating?

For those of you who are having problems downloading the file, it could be your web browser settings. Try saving it to your desktop first (by right clicking on the file), or opening with a different browser (i.e. if you use Explorer, try Firefox). Alternatively, if you have an old version of adobe reader, download the new version for free at the adobe site, clear your browsing history (through your web tools) and try again. Good luck!

I was able to download with no problem, "opened" the file first, then saved a copy. You must be signed in to Knitting Daily first to download.

Someone from Interweaved emailed me a copy and also told me that the on-line file is now working. However both files say they are corrupt when I try to open them. I have not trouble with any of the other files on this site so it seems to be a problem with the individual file not our computers.

I had no problem downloading the pdf. But, I do have a problem with the size. Over the last 12 months I knitted various baby hats, mostly for newly borns or up to three months and in each and every case the first try was far too short. Do European baby have larger heads than the rest of the world? 6 inches don't even reach the middle of the ears! And most mothers are not very pleased about it. I do now about 20 cm (8 ") which sometimes is difficult with the given yarn ... Besides all this. I like this site!
