An easy hat for both men and women, worked in linen stitch in two colors of a worsted merino/linen blend. This cute skull cup will work year-round. Easy crown shaping melds with the stitch pattern.

Finished Size 19 (21)" head circumference. Hat shown measures 21".
Yarn Louet MerLin Worsted (70% merino, 30% linen; 156 yd [142 m]/100 g): #11 cherry red (MC) and #35 mustard (CC), 1 skein each.
Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): 16" circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions
• Markers (m);
• stitch holders;
• tapestry needle.
Gauge 18 sts and 40 rows = 4" in linen st.

Errata

With MC, CO 85 (95) sts. Place a marker (pm) and join in the rnd. Work in linen st (see Stitch Guide) until piece measures 1 1/2" from CO. Join CC.

Rnd 1: With CC, work in patt.

Rnd 2: With MC, work in patt.

Repeat last 2 rnds 4 more times.
