Half-Felted Knapsack

A felted satchel bag is worked with two yarns in the same colorway. The base and straps are felted; the upper body of the bag is not felted. By weaving the I-cord straps through holes at the top edge, the bag opening can cinch closed.

Yarn Louet Clyde (95% wool, 5% silk; 82 yd [75 m]/50 g): #08 pink paradise (MC), 3 skeins. Louet Bonnie (94% wool, 6% silk; 88 yd [81 m]/50 g): #08 pink paradise (CC), 3 skeins. (See Notes.)
Needles Size 8 (5 mm): set of 5 double-pointed (dpn) and 24" circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

• smooth cotton waste yarn (or non-felting fiber).
Gauge 15 sts and 25 rows = 4" in St st in the rnd with CC.
