These knitted covers fit over purchased paper lanterns. Three lace covers offer different shapes and techniques—the cylinder is worked in the round in an open cross-stitch pattern; the cube is worked as four separate squares worked in the round from the center out; the ball is worked in two halves with crown shaping, then seamed at the equator.

Designer Kristi Schueler
Finished Size Cylinder: 23" circumference and 13" tall. Cube: Each square measures 10" × 10". Ball: 22" circumference (about 11" tall). All measurements after blocking.
Yarn Louet Euroflax Sportweight (100% linen; 270 yd [247 m]/100 g): #63 rose, #01 champagne, and #43 pewter, 1 skein each.
