Average rating:

A fairly simple lace shawl, worked in laceweight yarn. The shawlette size is very wearable; the side-to-side pattern is unusual, and the easy charts require a basic understanding of lace and repeats. A great first shawl project!

Designer Mandy Moore
Finished Size 58" wide and 22½" deep at center point, after blocking
Yarn Blue Moon Fiber Arts Geisha (70% kid mohair, 20% mulberry silk, 10% nylon; 995 yd [910 m]/227 g):
• jade, 1 skein
One skein should be enough for three shawls
Gauge 20 sts and 20 rows in lace patt = 4¼" wide and 3¼" long, after blocking
Tools
• Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24" or longer circular (cir) needle
• Yarn needle
• Pins for blocking

I would love to knit this shawl in a larger size and do not know which charts to repeat.  Please advise. (I actually have the same geisha yarn, so I have the whole skein.)

I'm curious about moving from chart B to chart C in this pattern--the pattern seems off in Row 3 to 5. Am I miss reading the pattern? The yarn overs don't seem to line up properly. Am I adding the extra stitch in Row 2 in the wrong place? I'm doing it at the beginning of the row as the pattern says, but it seems to make the pattern off to do so.

This shawl is beautiful, and I've selected it as my project in the INtermediate Knitting class I'm taking for the next 6 weeks at a local Arts Center.  However, we (the instructor and I are stymied) by what to do with the stitches at the end of row 20 from chart b (the first go round, and each subsequent working of Chart B).  It is such a beautiful shawl, I really want to make it and so I hope someone can assist.  Thank you!
