My friend, Sandy, knew I was looking for a winter knitting project and suggested that I knit her this beautiful cardigan, designed by Connie Chang Chinchio. Since I was accustomed to knitting men's sweaters, I was a unsure at first, but decided to dive right in nonetheless.
Well, it's been a ride. I found out soon enough that knitting garments for women require a keen eye for shaping, forming, detailing, draping, blocking, and measuring (and re-measuring); not to mention cables, short-rows, turning rows, darts, and seaming. I used a pistachio green Encore Tweed from the Plymouth Brand Collection (Yarn Content: 75% Acrylic, 22% Wool, 3% Rayon) on 5.0 mm circular needles.
Sandy loves the cardigan, especially the kangaroo pockets and shawl collar.
This project is for the intermediate/experienced knitter.
