This is the bag that started it all. I first saw it on Etsy.com in LittleProjects store and wanted to buy the bag. Then I find out it's only a pattern. So I set out to teach myself how to knit during hockey season and after 12 or so scarves, think I'm ready. Then I order the pattern and READ it and see that it is a crochet pattern. So I teach myself to crochet and two years and a couple of hockey seasons later, I finished it!

Now I'm on another pink spring style bag a bit higher and wider that I'm designing myself. It's going much faster!

This is simply all half-double crochet stiches!

My secret to handles.... hit store clearance bag racks for purses that are dirt cheap that handles you could recycle. Some of the sets I get for $4-$10 dollars. Plus I use the purse awhile if I like it and then pilfer the hardware! Much less expensive that ordering low quality handles or more expensive high quality handles!

Here is where you can get the pattern for this purse yourself on Etsy.com:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39540158

p.s. I also have my jewelry on Etsy.. check it out:  www.eyecandycreative.etsy.com

I love your purse, especially knowing that you learned to crochet to make it! That's fantastic. I wanted to add another tip about handles. I've found many great handles on purses in thrift stores and at garage sales.

Happy hookin'

When i read your story, i was like WOW. 2 years just to learn how to crochet a bag pattern you loved. I am impressed by your perserverance.

The colour  of the bag is pretty nice as well and I love the tip about buying clearance bags for the handles.

While I think your bag is very cute, what I really want to comment on is your perserverance. You go Girl!!
