Pinkerton Shawl

Constructed of two contrasting triangles, this bright and airy shawl is knit in one piece.  It is shaped using short rows over stockinette and a simple knit-two-together, yarn-over lace pattern.

Designer: Susan Dittrich
Finished Size: 48" wide at top edge and 23" deep down center.
Yarn: Hazel Knits Artisan Sock (90% superwash merino, 10% nylon; 400 yd [366 m]/120 g): #225 violeta, 2 skeins.
Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm): 40" circular (cir). Size 7 (4.5 mm): 40" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Removable marker or safety pin (m); tapestry needle; blocking pins; lace blocking wires (optional).
Gauge: 19 sts and 32 rows = 4" in St st on smaller needles.
