I found the traveling vines pattern in an old knitting dictionary and decided to make a scarf with it. The progress was slow so after a while I just kept two of the repeating patterns and used stockinette stitch for the rest. I love how it turned out. The scarf is knit in two pieces because I wanted both ends to look identical. I grafted the pieces together in the middle and am proud to say that there's almost no visible seam. Yeah!

Thank you for the nice comments. I've never shared my knitting projects on the internet. It's good to get feedback from someone other than my family. :-)

Lovely! I think it is much more interesting with the change you made to your plan.

I love how your scarf turned out. It is a beautiful planned project. This is a great way to use a challenging pattern but by keeping a plain weave in the center reduces the time and is less busy. I will use this technique, thanks for sharing.
