This is a wonderful pattern and is the reason i purchased Sockupied 2012! I bought the yarn suggested (Quince & Company's Cherokee) but in the colorway Petal. Instead of the ribbons, i knitted an Ichord and attached tiny tassels. My daughter Amy loved receiving them for her birthday, and would like another pair! Maybe in a few weeks...! :)
