I've been a knitter most of my adult life, but have really focused on learning new skills in the last two years. I've recently been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis, and it turns out that knitting is fantastic physical therapy for my hands. My recent foray into lace and socks has been a major thrill! My favorite knit designer by far is Norah Gaughan and my favorite books are by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, Nancy Bush, and of course Elizabeth Zimmermann. I love yarns by Noro, Debbie Bliss (especially Cashmerino), and Jade Sapphire (Lacey Lamb has changed my mind about 100% wool yarns). My biggest knitting challenge was when I was trying to figure out how on earth to do "P2togTBL". It was so awkward! Then I found some tips online and it made all the difference. These forums have been extremely helpful.
