Well, I'm not as excited now. The socks are done, but I'm calling them "Elfin boots." It is my first attempt, so there is room for improvement. LOTS actually. There is a hole in one of the gussets, the cuff edge is too tight, and the toes were knit too far resulting in a pointed toe instead of a rounded toe, and they were knit together (before the heel) by one stitch.
OTHER THAN THAT! they ARE socks! HEE-HEE!! :-)

I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!! I AM ALMOST FINISHED WITH MY FIRST-EVER PAIR OF SOCKS!! I am knitting them 2 at once, one inside the other!! (Refer to an article in Knitty.com by Kory Stamper (Fall 06). IT IS AMAZING!! I CAN'T WAIT TO START MORE SOCKS! (Of course, I need to do another pair of socks in these same colors so I have 2 matching socks instead of 2 different colored pair of socks! Soon!)
