  • Re: THE OFFICIAL PAN-AM JACKET KNIT-ALONG POST

Thank you from me as well, Dianajokints, for the gusset idea and instructions!! I have just started the section where the body continues separate from the sleeves, and I cast on 10 stitches for the gusset as you indicated. The way it just combines into the normal divider stitches is neat, and I think that if the full gusset room is not used when wearing

I like the triangle myself. Would love to see you model the jacket! Toni

Thanks Gina (I have a sister with your name!) I got this orange Ella Rae extrafine heather for a very good price, I think at Webs. I wouldn't worry about starting now, since its a long project. I only got back in the game less than a week ago. Toni

Hello fellow knitters! I’m back finally – delay in getting my yarn and other projects got me behind, but I now have some progress to show. I must say, it took me a while to absorb all the tips and ideas presented in the posts here. Here’s a little summary of my struggle: 1. For me, the M1’s gave me the most trouble. I could not

Hi Jean: Not sure if you are referring to my post of the orange yarn, but if so I can't say much because it hasn't arrived yet! I am anxiously awaiting its arrival - very good prices on this yarn on Webs. -- Toni

Hi fellow knitters: My name is Toni and I'm in Colorado just a few miles down the road from Interweave headquarters. This is a great project for joining a KAL since it seems a bit tricky as well as being a beautiful design. I stayed up late last night looking at yarn options, and finally ordered my yarn after midnight - got a little brave ordering

Dina: I looked up the cotton fleece and really like the looks of it for this project. I searched for quite a while for a cotton blend, but never found this one by Brown Sheep. I ended up selecting a 100% cotton yarn which is working out fine, but I suspect that you will have a bit softer sweater than mine. I'd love to see a picture once you have

Bess: You answered my question before I could ask it! Here is a picture of my progress so far, using 100% cotton (Reynolds Saucy) in color toffee. The color is much deeper than my picture shows here. I'm right at the spot where the pattern says to start the ribbing, but I think I need to extend it further. I was not sure by how much, and if I should

Hi CF: I spent a lot of time looking for a substitute yarn, and really wanted something in a cotton or cotton blend. I finally chose Reynolds Saucy which only cost me $4.95 a ball, and the yardage is more than the Classic Elite Posh so you won't need as much. You can check it out on Webs. I still haven't received it, so I can't tell you

Sherry: Both of these suggestions of yours are great. I haven't received my yarn yet, but following along here has already helped me plan. Even when planning on positive ease here, I think your eliminating the buttons is a cleaner solution overall, and easier to fasten when wearing. Thanks! Toni
