robin e I am really impressed with how you have picked up the stitches for the armhole, it looks GORGEOUS. Please can you post instructions as to how you did it and also how you were able to do the lace pattern after picking up the stitches. Hope this makes sense Henrietta

  • Re: Official Bella Blouse Knit-Along: KNITTING IN THE ROUND FORUM

I wanted to thank you for suggesting that I should block the band. It took a bit of time (and about 3 boxes of pins), but I did go ahead and block the band. As I am using the Berroco Glint, you don't really see laciness that much, but I think it looks pretty. I will try later to take and post a photo later. Can't wait to get really started on

  • Re: Official Bella Blouse Knit-Along: KNITTING IN THE ROUND FORUM

I have decided to knit in the round now as well. I have finally finished the bottom band and decided not to have a seam at the side, but to have it at center back. What does everybody think of that? Do you think it is going to matter if I block the sweater after it is totally finished? Thanks Henrietta

I wanted to thank those ladies who posted their charts for us newbies who are new to knitting lace. For the sleeve I am going to use Erica's sleeve chart to help me out. I have one question, the chart that she posted was for the left sleeve (as it goes into the garment), if I want to recreate it for the right sleeve, do I just knit from the other

  • Stitch guage

I am currently doing one the knit alongs and I am having an issue with guage. I am using a size 7 needle, berroco cotton twist yarn and am getting 22 sts over 4" instead of 20 sts. I tried going up a needle size but hate the way it looks. I was planning on knitting a size 38.5". so my dilemma is, I want to carry on using the size 7 needle

Thanks very much to Tongarii and Lori S for answering my question. And now I have another. I hate the way the sample looks using the size 8 needle, I only did 3 rows, but it just looked too loose and see through, so I was thinking, can I stay on the size 7's but maybe go up or down a size. I was going to make the 38.5" (my original gauge was

Thanks for this. I have knitted some of the swatch using the size 7 needle and am getting 22 stitches for the 4". I have a mental block (which I always seem to have when doing swatches and get more stitches than I need), do I need to go up a needle or down a needle. Also with regards to the lace at the bottom, when I read the pattern, do I go from

I was able to find the Berroco Cotton Twist and I have a question with regards to knitting the swatch. If the pattern says do the swatch using the larger needles (size 7), but the yarn says size 8, what should I use, the size 7's or the size 8's? Thanks in advance

I am definately going to do this, I can't wait. I've bought and printed out the pattern, I did a search online for the yarn, and was actually able to find the Berroco Cotton Twist (on sale), and the Berroco Glint for the trim. So as longing as everything arrives, I'm good to go. Yippee
