I've been knitting for about a million years! I have had some fabulous successes and some nightmarish failures. Hardest thing I ever knitted was an intricate fair isle vest. Most fun I had knitting was the "Mary Poppins" weekender bag complete with embroidered flowers, etc., all felted, and really large enough to actually USE as an overnight bag at least. I love to knit socks. I love Lucy Neatby's patterns. I also love oversized pullovers with hoods and kangaroo pockets--what I call "walk the dog sweaters". Unfortunately, it has to be really cold here to wear those things. I doubt that I would survive a much colder climate though sinces I was born in San Francisco where it's basically between 65 - 70 all year 'round. And my age and (sigh) post menopausal, no waist no more, figure precludes my knitting and wearing those cutesy, lacy little shirts that are so popular. Doesn't preclude shawls though! . Not wild about intarsia but I'll do it if something really grabs me. One year I knit seven (count them - 7) reindeer sweaters for my kids and their friends. Boy did I have THAT pattern down!
