I'm a native of Northwest Arkansas, a student of Ozark Mountains folkways.
Professionally I have been a graphic artist, crafts and photography teacher, children's librarian. I have a BA in Art from the U of A at Fayetteville.
I learned to knit at about age 8 from a visiting aunt, and muddled through with some basic books for years, knitting only squares and loooong squares--scarves-- until after high school. After years of off and on pursuit, I've been knitting really seriously since around 2003.
I think I taught myself to crochet, using general craft magazines around 1970. It was the "thing" then.
I am married to a college professor, have two grown-up sons, a house full of pets, but no place these days for large, fiber-y animals (sob!)
