i have been knitting for 60 years or so. My grandmother taught me the knit stitch. My mom paid a young lady who lived a few houses away to continute teaching me, I went to her once a week for a summer. She helped me learn to purl and to keep a nice tension. In high school we had a knitting club and our advisor taught us how to knit argyle sox. Some of the girls had never knitted befor and to this date one still has the socks on the needles.
