I am retired from the work force, but working on being an entrepreneur. I am still learning to knit, but have an eye for simple designing and hope to publish some of my designs.
I've been a crocheter since the early 1970's, but just started knitting upon retirement in 2008. I enjoy it immensely and have even sold some projects.
I enjoy the education as well: learning about the yarns, learning new stitches, how does it all come together, working with color, etc. I truly enjoy Knitting Daily, Knit and Crochet Today, and Shay Pendray's Needlearts Studio. Unfortunately, they're on early in the a.m. and I often miss them because I killed my alarm clock when I retired. But, I try to get up early to watch the shows when I can. I'd love to purchase the dvd's but I'm on social security and it just barely provides a meager existence. Hence, the desire for entrepreneurship. I like the hosts of the shows as well: Eunny, Shay, Bret, and Pokey from The Quilting Arts. I always feel I've started my day with aesthetics when I can catch their shows.
One of my goals for retirement was to surround myself with aesthetics as I wasn't able to provide the time when I was in the workforce. Now, I can do that. Hallelujah! Except for the fin'l end, retirement is great!
