Freelance illustrator and graphic designer. Currently working on writing some patterns. Don't know what will become of them yet. I'm a really fast knitter and I knit just about everywhere!
This sweater slowed me down at bit. The yarn from alchemy yarns, silken straw, took a bit to get used to. I used bamboo needles for a little friction. It came out splended and I am now sewing the seems. Not done yet. I will have to purchase something special as an undergarment. You can see through it. I knitted it in dark navy.
I finshed the Lotus Blossom Tank from the Summer 2006 issue. I used Rowan's cotton Glace. I altered the pattern by taking it in at the waste. A total of 10 stitches. It is just too hot right now to wear it, but as soon as the highs are in the 70's I'll be wearing it. If I can I will post pictures
I am now working on the Oriel Lace blouse from Summer 2007. For this sweater I am using the yarn specified in the pattern. it is a bit of a challenge, so it is slowing me down a bit. I am using one stitche marker at the begining of the second repeat of the pattern so I don't loose track of where to begin. Once the decreasing starts it can get confusing. The pattern is a 12 stitch 28 row repeat. I'm almost done with the front, the rest will go more smoothly.
I just finished another Yoke Detail sweater from her Coastlines publication. I used Rowan cotton instead of the silk. I figured out how to purl backwards, so I wouldn't have to turn the work to do the back side of the bobbles. This saves quiet a bit of time. Since then I am working on my second "singlet" from Jo Sharps Saturday. It is just a cotton spaghetti strap, sleeveless taylored shirt. This had garter stitch straps and it is faster to just turn the work then to "knit backwards".
